Job summary

The City of North Port, FL is seeking a Utilities Engineer to provide high-level engineering and project management support to the Utilities Engineering Division Manager and Assistant Director.

You will oversee planning, budgeting, design, permitting, and construction for capital and non-capital projects, manage asset management initiatives for water, wastewater, and reclaimed water, and coordinate with regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering is required.
• Ten years of civil/environmental/water/wastewater engineering experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida or ability to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and management support to the Utilities Engineering Division Manager and Assistant Director.
• Organize planning, budgeting, engineering, design, permitting, construction for capital and non-capital projects for the utilities department.
• Evaluate system expansion and improvements with emphasis on longevity and cost effectiveness.
• Lead asset management programs for water, wastewater, and reclaimed water infrastructure.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies for project approvals during design and construction.
