Job summary

Wagstaff Inc. in Spokane Valley is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our Applied Technologies division. The role focuses on welding and NDE inspections of stainless and carbon steel weldments and ensuring quality per contract specs.

You will collaborate with Fabrication and Engineering to drive continuous improvement, maintain records, and support audits while adhering to safety policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have at least five (5) years of UT (ultrasonic testing) shear wave weld inspection experience in a regulated industry (nuclear, boiler & vessel, aerospace, oil & gas).
• Strong understanding of NDE principles and techniques and be familiar with the scope and limitations of the methods certified for.
• Ability to setup and calibrate NDE equipment and trouble-shoot associated problems
• Must be able to read fabrication and mechanical drawings and have a basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Vision must be able to read Jaeger Number 1 or equivalent size letter at 12 inches
• Physically able to perform inspections in a manufacturing environment, including operation of overhead cranes, jibs, and forklifts after training
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/Issue Tracking software
• Detail-oriented, accurate, and thorough

Responsibilities

• Perform weld and NDE inspections (VT/PT/MT/UT) on stainless steel and carbon steel weldments and fabricated equipment.
• Inspect and report on materials, services, processes, and products to ensure conformance with standards and specifications.
• Create and maintain quality records and reports.
• Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement activities.
• Work with Fabrication and Engineering throughout fabrication and inspection process.
• Represent Wagstaff during audits, customer interactions, and with suppliers/visitors.
• Collect, monitor, organize, report, and distribute data related to quality functions.
• Adhere to company policies; may work overtime beyond 40 hours as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
