Job summary

PTR Global is seeking a User Study Researcher II in Culver City, CA to design, execute, and analyze studies that inform product strategy and UX decisions. You will work with product, design, and engineering teams to translate findings into actionable recommendations and improve usability and engagement.

The role is contract-based, with a focus on independent project work and collaborative teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Experience across usability testing, interviews, and surveys is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in HCI, psychology, cognitive science, anthropology, sociology, design or related field.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and conduct user research studies including usability tests, interviews, surveys, diary studies, and concept evaluations.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers to define study objectives and success criteria.
• Develop research plans, screeners, discussion guides, and test protocols tailored to user needs.
• Recruit and schedule participants representing target user segments.
• Moderate user sessions (remote and in-person) to yield high-quality insights.
• Analyze qualitative and quantitative data; synthesize findings into actionable insights.
• Create presentations and visuals to communicate outcomes to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Partner with design/product teams to iterate on concepts based on findings.
• Advocate for user-centered design and help shape product roadmaps with evidence.
• Maintain research documentation and knowledge bases for reuse across teams.
• Contribute to development of research processes and toolkit across the organization.
• Ensure research activities comply with ethical standards and privacy regulations.
