Job summary

The University of Kansas’s Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC) seeks a Police Instructor Senior to lead the Judgmental Use of Force program, develop curricula, and deliver basic and in-service training across Kansas.

The role requires guiding instructors, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with multiple agencies to ensure high-quality, scenario-based instruction at KLETC and outreach sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
• Minimum of 8 years of increasingly responsible experience as a full-time certified law enforcement officer.
• Effective written communication skills as evident in application materials.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in basic, advanced and specialized law enforcement classes at KLETC and outreach sites.
• Develop curriculum, learning objectives and assessment materials for Kansas law enforcement programs.
• Stay current with national best practices by attending training and working with external partners.
