Job summary

The University of Kansas, Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC) seeks a Police Instructor Senior to lead the instruction of basic, advanced and specialized law enforcement classes throughout Kansas. The role includes curriculum development and staying current with best practices in use-of-force training.

You will develop learning objectives, lesson plans and materials, oversee equipment and simulators, and collaborate with outreach sites to deliver high-quality training to police

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
• A minimum of 8 years of increasingly responsible experience as a full-time certified law enforcement officer.
• Effective written communication skills as evident in application materials.

Responsibilities

• Instruct basic, advanced and specialized law enforcement classes, courses, seminars and workshops at KLETC and outreach sites across Kansas.
• Develop curricula, learning objectives, lesson plans and handout materials for all certified programs.
• Maintain and inventory weapons systems, simulators and training equipment used in use-of-force training.
