Job summary

JORI Logistics is seeking an experienced Senior U.S. Customs Entry Writer to join our U.S. Customs Brokerage team in Houston. This role handles complex import transactions, ensuring compliance and timely client guidance.

You will work across multiple modes of transport and coordinate with CBP, other agencies, carriers, and clients. The ideal candidate has advanced U.S. customs knowledge, strong attention to detail, and the ability to resolve issues efficiently while mentoring juniors and

Qualifications

• Several years of progressive experience preparing U.S. customs entries.
• Advanced working knowledge of CBP entry and release procedures.
• Experience with complex, non-routine import transactions.
• Experience with bonds, including continuous and single-transaction bonds.
• Experience with Foreign-Trade Zone transactions.
• Experience with U.S. rail imports and EDI messages.
• Strong knowledge of tariff classification, valuation, and duty calculation.
• Experience with Partner Government Agency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, transmit, and finalize U.S. entries for multiple modes of transport.
• Process complex entry types and specialized transactions.
• Review documents for accuracy and completeness before transmission.
• Identify compliance issues and resolve potential problems.
• Obtain releases and ensure timely file closure.
• Monitor status from entry to final billing and file completion.
