Job summary

Thorlabs Inc. is seeking a seasoned Controller for the U.S. to lead the corporate accounting department and oversee accurate financial reporting, audits, and budgets. You will develop reports forecasting income, expenses, and earnings based on past and expected operations.

Based in Newton, NJ, the role may require travel to other Thorlabs locations and coordination with the global finance team. Strong GAAP and manufacturing experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred; CPA or MBA welcomed.
• Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and US taxation.
• Experience with manufacturing costing, inventory, and multi-location consolidation.
• Proven leadership in global accounting, controls, and audits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger analysis and new account setup.
• Reconcile inventory accounts, CO GS, and pursue cost reductions.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and domestic reporting.
• Assist in AP/AR oversight and payroll tax compliance.
• Support tax compliance and formulation of internal controls.
