Job summary

Metric Engineering, Inc. is seeking an Urban and Regional Planning Project Manager with strong local government experience to oversee planning projects, studies, and community development efforts.

You will manage scope, budgets, staffing, and client relationships across multiple concurrent assignments in a hybrid work model with offices in Miami, Lake Mary, Tampa, Jacksonville, or Panama City. You will lead development of comprehensive plans, zoning updates, and development reviews, coordinate

Qualifications

• 10+ years of planning experience, with city/county/regional contracts.
• AICP certification required or strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Florida growth management law and local planning processes.
• Experience with proposal development and client management.

Responsibilities

• Manage scope, schedule, budget, and staffing for multiple planning projects.
• Serve as primary client contact with municipal, county, and MPO/TPO clients.
• Lead development of comprehensive plans, code updates, and zoning analyses.
• Direct stakeholder and public involvement activities and public meetings.
• Present findings to boards, commissions, and the public.
• Review and QC technical reports and staff work.
• Prepare scopes of work, fee estimates, and invoices; monitor finances.
• Support business development including proposals and SOQs.
• Oversee grant applications and funding documentation.
• Mentor and supervise junior staff.
• Coordinate with engineering and environmental staff on projects.
