Job summary

The City and County of Honolulu's Department of Parks and Recreation, Administration Division, seeks a Planner V in Kapolei to coordinate and lead interagency planning for park grounds and facilities maintenance and community engagement.

You will develop presentations, conduct surveys and studies, and analyze planning activities, providing input on plans and designs. Some work may occur on weekends or evenings; disaster response duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in city planning or related field.
• Experience requirements include four years of professional planning/architecture/socio‑economic research, with two years in city planning or related activities.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, facilitate and participate in interagency planning activities for long-range plans and maintenance programs.
• Develop and conduct presentations with government, private and community groups.
• Conduct surveys and studies to develop methods for grounds and facilities maintenance and community engagement.
• Develop, analyze and complete studies and research of planning activities and services.
• Provide input for planning and review of plans and designs for park grounds and facilities.
