Job summary

Lonza is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Associate II (Principal Biotechnologist) to join our Portsmouth, NH team. This advanced, floor-based role will lead upstream single-use bioreactor operations and support start-up activities at a brand-new facility as production ramps up.

You will mentor manufacturing staff, manage batch progression, and ensure Data Integrity and cGMP compliance while collaborating across functions to drive operational improvements and timely campaigns.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of advanced cGMP bioprocessing/manufacturing experience.
• Upstream processing knowledge (bioreactors, single-use systems) preferred.
• Experience leading floor teams and managing batch operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead upstream manufacturing operations with single-use bioreactor systems.
• Balance Grade B aseptic processing and gowning in Grade C environments.
• Support facility launch water runs and initial production campaigns.
• Author and review cGMP documents and SOPs.
• Train and mentor staff on new large-scale automated equipment.
• Ensure cGMP compliance and drive CAPAs and investigations.
