Job summary

IPSecure is seeking a senior UNIX Engineer III to design, implement, and sustain enterprise UNIX and Linux environments in support of DoD cyber operations at JBSA Lackland, San Antonio, TX. The role requires TS/SCI clearance and provides opportunities to modernize infrastructure with automation.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of enterprise UNIX/Linux engineering experience.
• Experience in DoD, Federal, or large enterprise environments; RHEL/Oracle Linux, Bash, Python, Ansible, LVM, NFS, LDAP, SSH, VMware integration, backup/recovery, performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise UNIX/Linux server environments.
• Engineer highly available Linux platforms supporting mission-critical applications.
• Perform OS deployments, upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh initiatives.
• Integrate UNIX/Linux systems with virtualization, storage, backup, and cloud environments.
• Administer UNIX/Linux systems across multiple security enclaves.
• Manage authentication, file systems, storage, and system resources.
• Monitor system health, capacity, and performance.
• Support enterprise backup and disaster recovery.
• Implement DISA STIG-compliant configurations; RMF/A&A compliance support.
• Provide Tier III engineering support.
• Develop automation using Bash, Python, and Ansible.
