Job summary

Zynga seeks a Principal Software Developer - Full Stack (Unity, C#) to join our distributed engineering team across Austin, CA, and other locations. You will lead core engine and client infrastructure work, pushing performance, load times, and memory optimizations for casual/mobile games.

Expect independent, multi-week initiatives and collaboration with engineers to evolve architecture and tooling. You’ll mentor teammates, review designs, and drive frontend and backend integrations, including

Qualifications

• 6+ years game industry or mobile app experience
• Shipped titles or live games experience (mobile iOS/Android)
• Expert knowledge in C#
• 3+ years Unity experience, including engine-level work
• Solid understanding of client/server architecture in mobile games
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Datadog

Responsibilities

• Define, architect, and develop core systems and client infrastructure in Unity and C#
• Diagnose and resolve complex game-wide technical issues such as slow load times and low frame rates
• Own evaluation, upgrade, and maintenance of third-party libraries, SDKs, and engine dependencies
• Design and implement foundational architecture changes to enable future feature roadmaps
• Produce technical design documentation and implementation plans for infrastructure initiatives
• Scope and cost work with estimates and risks
• Adapt plans when requirements or platform constraints change
• Review code and design documents for teammates
• Mentor other engineers
