Job summary

SEIU (Service Employees International Union) is seeking an experienced organizer to advance contract campaigns and bargaining support for locals across the United States. This role offers the chance to lead negotiations, train bargaining leaders, and strengthen member power through strategic union actions.

Reporting to the Union Strength Hub Director, the position focuses on developing training programs, coordinating cross-unit efforts, and integrating racial justice into policy and practice

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience organizing workers and unions.
• 5–7 years of negotiations experience, including first contracts.
• Knowledge of union systems, structures, and cultures.
• Ability to lead diverse, inclusive teams.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Travel and work beyond traditional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support local unions' bargaining efforts and campaigns.
• Lead larger contract negotiations and multi-employer campaigns.
• Train and develop bargaining leaders.
• Craft strategies and training programs for local union leaders.
• Plan and deliver training programs to meet local needs.
• Maintain knowledge of first-contract campaigns and best practices.
• Help create leadership development initiatives for local union leaders.
• Perform additional duties aligned with the Hub’s mission.
