Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; 8+ years underwriting experience preferred.
• Professional designations preferred.
• Typically extensive underwriting experience across complex risks.

Responsibilities

• Assess acceptability of highly complex underwriting risks using diagnostic analysis.
• Develop specialized endorsement language for highly complex risk.
• Determine pricing of complex risks for the book based on financial and competitive analysis with little oversight.
• Make recommendations on underwriting policy and pricing strategy.
• Analyze profitability of complex risks and present reports to management.
• Market CNA products through agencies or brokerage communities and conduct field visits.
• Develop and maintain agency/broker relationships with large producers in the territory.
• Stay current on state/regulatory issues and industry trends.
• Mentor and guide less experienced underwriters and assist in training.
• Utilize CNA systems for day-to-day underwriting activities and support special projects.
