Job summary

AXA XL is seeking a strategic underwriting leader for commercial/contract surety. You will monitor market conditions, analyze portfolio performance, and drive profitability while ensuring compliance with company standards.

The role collaborates with PRCB, Specialty and P&C to identify cross-selling opportunities and align priorities with strategic objectives. You will set department expectations, develop territory sales plans, and communicate plans to external partners, strengthening

Qualifications

Extensive experience in commercial or contract surety or related underwriting preferred.
Advanced knowledge of contract and/or commercial surety operations products, procedures and practices.
Expertise in bond lines of business, ratings, customer environment and markets.
Extensive knowledge of bond underwriting best practices, field underwriting operations and day‑to‑day underwriting operational needs.

Responsibilities

Monitors market conditions and confirms information gathered within market space.
Analyzes portfolio performance and drives profitable growth based on analysis.
Reviews underwriting decisions and ensures compliance with legal requirements, objectives and standards.
Develops cross-selling opportunities with other divisions and partners.
Plans and integrates territory sales plans to achieve top and bottom line objectives.
Communicates strategic direction and budgets to external partners and key groups.
