Job summary

AXA XL in the United States seeks a territory-focused underwriter to manage relationships, underwriting and expenses for commercial bond. You will develop agency and broker partnerships to drive sales growth and expand distribution, operating with authority to underwrite and steer profitability.

You will report to the Underwriting Manager, Commercial Bond. The role emphasizes market analysis, guideline input, cross‑functional collaboration, and leadership across the bond team to meet strategic

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree preferred in business, insurance or related field.
• Actively pursuing AFSB, CPCU or other certification desired.
• Moderate experience in commercial or contract surety underwriting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor market conditions and confirm information within market space.
• Analyze portfolio performance and drive profitable growth.
• Review underwriting guidelines and provide input for new guidelines.
• Develop and pursue cross selling opportunities with PRCB, Specialty and P&C.
• Plan and implement territory sales plans to meet objectives.
• Communicate strategic direction and budgets to external partners.
• Define operational goals and lead the team to achieve them.
• Develop customer relationships within the commercial lines market.
• Establish customer service standards for the bond team.
