Job summary

CNA Financial seeks an experienced underwriter to manage and grow a highly complex book of business. You will serve as a technical expert, pricing sophisticated risks, and advising on policy and pricing strategies while mentoring junior underwriters in a hybrid work setting.

Reporting to management, you will build broker relationships, analyze risk profitability, and use CNA systems for day-to-day activities. Bachelor's degree and eight years of underwriting experience are typical requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Professional designations are preferred.
• Strong underwriting knowledge and analytical skills needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs a combination of duties in accordance with guidelines on highly complex underwriting risks; develops specialized endorsement language.
• Determines appropriate pricing of complex risks based on financial and competitive analysis with minimal oversight.
• Makes recommendations on underwriting policy and pricing strategy.
• Analyzes profitability of highly complex risks; prepares and presents reports to management.
• Markets products and services through agencies or brokerage channels; conducts field visits.
