Job summary

CNA Insurance seeks an experienced Underwriter to manage a highly complex book of business and act as a technical expert in underwriting specialties. This role requires advanced analysis, strong communication with agents/brokers, and leadership in training colleagues.

You will determine pricing and develop endorsements for unique risks, with broad authority on complex matters. Reporting to a manager or above, you’ll leverage CNA systems for day-to-day activities and drive strategic underwriting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; professional designations preferred.
• Typically 8+ years underwriting experience.
• Experience with complex underwriting and pricing decisions.

Responsibilities

• Assesses acceptability of highly complex underwriting risks using diagnostic analysis.
• Determines pricing for complex risks based on financial and market analysis.
• Develops endorsement language for complex risks.
• Markets products through agencies and broker networks; visits field.
• Mentors junior underwriters and assists in underwriting training.
