Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Underwriting Assistant to join the Core Renewal Team in Concord, CA. You will be the first point of contact for brokers and agents, initiating underwriting for the Western region on existing business.

You will monitor tasks, handle endorsements, and support renewals within authority limits. You will mentor colleagues, lead projects, and participate in training while working four days in office and one day remote, enabling career growth within

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Property & Casualty insurance experience.
• Knowledge to underwrite Workers’ Compensation, Property, General liability, Auto, and Umbrella lines.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite small renewals within an assigned Letter of Authority.
• Works closely with underwriters in handling policy requests and renewals.
• Follow underwriting guidelines, state regulation, and general procedures while handling assigned renewal policies.
• Maintains ownership of tasks assigned and provide acceptable service standards when processing and assigning tasks.
• Provide agency support to assigned agents by answering general questions, providing endorsement status, cancellation status, billing inquiries, or assigning work to the appropriate contacts.
• Mentor others, lead projects, and help with training less experienced employees.
