Old Republic Bitco is seeking an Executive Underwriter for our Pasadena regional office. Hybrid work arrangement blends in-person collaboration with flexibility for seasoned underwriting leadership in complex sectors.

Responsibilities include evaluating applications, pricing, agency management, and travel for sales growth. 5–7 years’ underwriting experience in targeted industries and a Finance/Insurance-related degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years in field underwriting for construction, forest products, manufacturing or oil & gas.
• Experience underwriting new & renewal business; pricing and coverage knowledge.
• Ability to assess exposures and manage risks across policy periods.
• Experience growing and managing agency relationships and performance.

Responsibilities

• Decide to accept, modify, or decline applications; monitor exposure changes.
• Quote and negotiate prices; understand ISO, forms, endorsements, and manuals.
• Manage agencies: growth, appointment, and profitability; credit management.
• Travel to perform sales/marketing, attend meetings, and cover territory.
• Solicit new business and retain renewal business through presentations.
• Develop profitable underwriting results and customer service in territory.
• Plan sales budgets, set premium/loss goals, and forecast business.
• Maintain profitable relationships via regular agency visits and reviews.
