Job summary

Acadia Insurance, a Berkley Company, is seeking a Senior Underwriter/Team Leader for its New Hampshire region. The role focuses on underwriting and pricing new and renewal commercial lines accounts, while leading underwriting staff and maintaining strong agency relationships.

You will evaluate risks, price policies, and drive premium growth with attention to loss ratios, working closely with home office and agents to ensure profitable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience working in the insurance industry, preferably in Commercial Lines.
• Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining positive relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including active listening for solutions.
• Demonstrated willingness to collaborate with colleagues and present in a way that influences others.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to think analytically about business problems, make recommendations, and propose solutions.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and price new and renewal accounts to Acadia’s standards with focus on acquisition.
• Evaluate, select and price policies to achieve underwriting profit and growth.
• Develop and manage agency relationships with producers and customers through visits and regular contact.
• Monitor production, hit ratios, renewal retention and other quality metrics.
• Coordinate loss control, claim, audit and billing services as needed.
• Provide leadership and direction to underwriting staff in the territory.
