Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services is seeking a Senior Underwriter to administer underwriting and servicing of new accounts for agents and producers within the territory, ensuring compliance with underwriting standards, authority, and pricing.

This role requires strong risk analysis, pricing discipline, the ability to travel up to 25% of the time, and collaboration with the territory team to meet business goals while upholding AmTrust’s values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time within the assigned territory and to the Home Office as required.
• CPCU or CIC designation preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated experience with commercial casualty, property, automobile, workers compensation and umbrella insurance coverage and risk selection.

Responsibilities

• Write and retain a profitable book of business through solid risk analysis, pricing and servicing.
• Collaborates with territory team and keeps stakeholders informed of issues and activity.
• Develop and implement territory business plan and share accountability with team to meet territory goals.
• Train territory staff and clients on underwriting appetite and protocols.
• Act as referral point within Home Office authority grant for territory underwriting staff.
• Coach and collaborate to develop and maintain relationships with external clients and agents; travel within territory for meetings and industry events.
• Provide timely communication and guidance to support staff for processing coverage requests.
• Collaborate on reports and update databases as required.
