Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC seeks an underwriter trainee/analyst to support profitability and growth. You will evaluate risks, communicate decisions to producers, and maintain client relationships under established guidelines.

The role emphasizes collaboration with a cross-functional team and ongoing professional development, including CPCU/RPLU studies, with a competitive benefits package and structured advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience
• Studies toward attaining a Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), AU, CIC or equivalent designation
• State-specific insurance license depending on specialty area

Responsibilities

• Assist in meeting annual department goals for profitability, renewal retention, new business growth and rate increase.
• Evaluate risks for acceptability within established underwriting guidelines.
• Communicate decisions with producers and respond to inquiries.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, producers, co-workers and outside vendors.
• Respond to submissions and servicing items within company time frames.
• Issue policies and endorsements in coordination with Supervisors/Underwriting Assistants.
• Pursue CPCU/RPLU etc. education as agreed with management.
