Job summary

Accelerant is looking for an experienced senior underwriter to join its Captive Solutions team. This role involves underwriting loss-sensitive middle-market and national account risks, while also building strong relationships with brokers. The ideal candidate will have 5–12+ years of experience in commercial lines underwriting, with a focus on complex structures.

The successful candidate will demonstrate sound technical judgment, manage an assigned book of business, and contribute to the growth of Accelerant’s offerings in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 5–12+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience at a top carrier.
• Hands-on technical expertise in loss-sensitive structures.
• Experience with captive insurance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite middle-market and national account risks using sound technical judgment.
• Build and maintain broker relationships for complex placements.
• Deliver multi-option solutions on submissions.
• Manage and grow an assigned book of business effectively.
• Build insurance products and assist in policy implementation.
