Job summary

Colonial Group in Houston, TX, seeks an experienced Underwriter to evaluate and underwrite submissions for all pricing requests, including advanced underwriting and analysis projects. You will lead and assist in managing client projects and develop pricing models across medical, pharmacy, dental, life, and disability lines.

You will collaborate with Producers, clients, Underwriters, Account Executives and Benefits Analysts to define projects, maintain data reporting, and mentor junior team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three or more years related work experience.
• Valid Insurance License within 90 Days.
• Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite submissions for pricing requests including advanced underwriting.
• Lead or assist in management and execution of client projects.
• Develop pricing forecasts for medical, pharmacy, dental, vision, life and AD&D, disability and EAP pricing.
• Modify and customize underwriting models and reporting templates to meet customer needs.
• Present analysis to clients directly in a confident and easy-to-understand manner.
• Maintain data tracking and reporting for financial management, underwriting models and client reports.
• Assist with development and training of other Underwriters.
• Assist with training materials and presentations.
• Peer review of other Underwriters’ work for accuracy and completeness.
