Job summary

HCSC in Chicago, IL (hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote) is seeking a group underwriting consultant to manage pricing and financial analysis for the RX business, including quoting, rating proposals, and renewal projections.

Under minimal supervision, you will provide expert underwriting advice on pricing strategies, performance guarantees, and profitability of accounts, ensuring they stay on a profitable basis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics or accounting; minimum 5 years underwriting experience.
• Advanced knowledge of mathematical applications used in underwriting, including ability to calculate figures such as discounts, proportions and percentages, as well as application of basic concepts of business mathematics and algebra in underwriting problems.
• Knowledge of State and Federal legislation to group health underwriting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and price HCSC RX business to meet profit and growth objectives.
• Quote and rate proposals and project renewals.
• Prepare annual settlements and experience reports.
• Provide underwriting expertise on pricing strategies and performance guarantees.
