Twin Maples Specialty is seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to join our Excess Casualty team. The ideal candidate will combine technical underwriting expertise with strong analytical skills and the ability to build broker and client relationships.

The role focuses on profitable underwriting results and maintaining Twin Maples Specialty’s reputation in commercial casualty markets. You will mentor juniors and collaborate across actuarial, claims, and risk control teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in business, insurance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of underwriting experience in excess casualty/admitted or non-admitted lines.
• Demonstrated expertise in assessing complex risks, coverage structures, and account pricing.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select, and price new and renewal excess casualty submissions per guidelines and appetite.
• Analyze exposures, loss history, and coverage requirements for mid-to-large commercial risks.
• Design and structure policies, endorsements, and terms for broker and client needs; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain producer relationships to grow and retain a profitable book of business.
• Collaborate with actuarial, claims, and risk control teams to optimize risk selection and profitability.
• Mentor and guide junior underwriters and underwriting assistants.
• Stay current on market trends, competitor activity, and emerging exposures.
