Philadelphia Insurance Companies is seeking a Sr. Underwriting Specialist to join our TMS Excess Casualty team at our office locations. You will apply top-tier risk assessment and underwriting expertise to determine acceptability on complex, high-limit accounts.

Under broad management direction, you will mentor others, participate in market development, and deliver expert guidance on proposals and terms. National scope and recognition within the industry are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 15 years of related industry experience or Excess Casualty coverage (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).

Responsibilities

• Mentors, trains and/or supervises less experienced underwriters.
• Conducts analysis and applies appropriate underwriting techniques to evaluate risk acceptability.
• Delivers technical guidance as an expert resource providing assistance and training to junior staff.
• Prepares and participates in proposals to producers and/or accounts, negotiating terms and conditions.
• Prepares and participates in marketing activities for business development and relationship building.
