Job summary

Ascot Group in Chicago seeks a Senior Underwriter, Excess Casualty, to lead a renewals portfolio and generate new business within the assigned region. You will analyze data, apply underwriting discipline, and cultivate strong broker and client relationships to drive profit and growth.

The role requires 3+ years in underwriting, a Bachelor’s degree, and the ability to travel 10–15% of the time. You will work with AI-enabled tools and collaborate across platforms to deliver sustainable results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of underwriting in P&C; Excess Casualty preferred.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own profitability, growth, and retention of assigned Excess Casualty portfolio.
• Evaluate, structure, price, negotiate, and bind complex accounts.
• Monitor performance metrics and take corrective actions as needed.
• Refer risks outside guidelines while exercising delegated authority.
• Build broker/client relationships and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Communicate Ascot’s value and generate new business.
