Job summary

Ascot Group is seeking a Senior Underwriter for Excess Casualty to manage a national accounts portfolio. You will generate new business, analyze liabilities, and apply underwriting guidelines with an emphasis on sustainable profitability.

You will leverage data, AI-enabled tools, and broker relationships to drive growth while maintaining strong client service and collaborative cross-functional teamwork within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 3 years of underwriting experience in property and casualty; Excess Casualty preferred.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Own profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned Excess Casualty portfolio.
• Evaluate, structure, price, negotiate, and bind complex accounts.
• Monitor premium, exposure, and loss trends; take corrective actions as needed.
• Build relationships with brokers and clients to generate profitable new business.
• Use data and AI-enabled tools to strengthen risk assessment and decision making.
