Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) is seeking a Senior Underwriter to join the Excess & Surplus Lines Small Commercial team. Based in Boston or Atlanta, this new role will underwrite General Liability and Property business and contribute to the profitable growth of the new E&S Small Commercial product.

You will evaluate, select, and price small commercial accounts while building productive relationships with distribution partners and intermediaries.

Qualifications

• Typically, 5+ years of relevant Small Commercial underwriting experience.
• Experience with an insurance carrier or broker in a commercial setting.
• Technical underwriting capability across Property and Casualty.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the build-out and profitable growth of the E&S Small Commercial book.
• Evaluate, select, structure, and price small commercial accounts.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with distribution partners.
• Partner with management to develop the small commercial platform and product offering.
• Analyze account information and organize underwriting priorities for timely decisions.
• Represent BHSI with integrity and collaborate to deliver customer-focused solutions.
