Job summary
Stonewater Development Group seeks a Senior Underwriter to lead underwriting and financial modeling for affordable housing projects, specializing in 4% and 9% LIHTC, tax-exempt bonds, and soft funds. You will manage RFA/FRI submissions, perform sensitivity analyses, and collaborate with lenders, developers, and government agencies.
The role requires 5+ years in multifamily real estate finance, deep LIHTC knowledge, and strong Excel-based modeling.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Urban Planning, Public Policy, or related field.
- 5+ years in multifamily real estate finance, LIHTC underwriting, or affordable housing development.
- Strong familiarity with PHFA and state HFA requirements; PHFA experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain detailed Excel models for multifamily affordable housing deals, including budgets and pro formas.
- Underwrite LIHTC transactions (4% and 9%) and mixed-finance deals.
- Lead financial modeling, stress testing, and documentation for RFA/FRI submissions.
- Coordinate with developers, lenders, and government agencies to resolve underwriting questions.
- Navigate investor closing process and ensure adherence to underwriting standards.
