Job summary

Global Recruiters of Denver is seeking a Senior Underwriter/Underwriting Specialist to join a high-exposure personal lines team. You will manage a dedicated book of large, complex HNW risks and work with brokers to achieve strong underwriting results.

This hybrid role is based in San Diego, CA with national reach. You will build relationships with internal teams and broker partners, pursue new business, and contribute to process improvements while travel is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in personal lines P&C insurance.
• Experience underwriting large/complex HNW accounts.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting practices, policies, and procedures.
• Demonstrated analytical, quantitative, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to independently manage a personal book of business.
• Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and a collaborative attitude.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Active P&C and surplus lines licenses, or ability to obtain promptly (with company support).

• Conduct independent sales calls to support business development

They are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Underwriter/Underwriting Specialist to join their complex accounts team. This group is responsible for underwriting the most sophisticated and high-exposure accounts in the portfolio, including those with total property limits in excess of $100 million.

This is a highly visible role with national reach, suited to underwriting professionals who thrive in high-stakes environments and are energized by complex challenges. The Underwriting Specialist will manage a dedicated book of new and renewal business, serving as a primary contact while collaborating with internal teams and broker partners to achieve strong underwriting results.
