Overview:

AvMed, a division of Sentara Health Plans in the Florida market, is hiring a Remote Senior Underwriter.

Location and Work Shift:

City/State: Doral, FL

Work Shift: First (Days)

Available in the following states: Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington (state), West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

Responsibilities:

• Develop employer group rates accurately.
• Collaborate with sales to finalize rates and develop benefit options.
• Mentor and advise Underwriters and Trainees.
• Handle cases with the highest complexity.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 7 years of Underwriting experience, specifically in large group underwriting.
• Preferred experience in prospect rating, renewal rating, and self-funding.

Compensation and Benefits:

Base pay ranges from $60,756.8 to $101,245.4, with additional incentives possible. Benefits include health plans, paid leave, disability and life insurance, 401k match, tuition assistance, student debt payoff, professional development, pet insurance, legal resources, and potential bonuses.
