Job Title: Remote Senior Underwriter at AvMed

AvMed, a division of Sentara Health Plans in the Florida market, is hiring a Remote Senior Underwriter.

Remote opportunities are available in the following states: Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington (state), West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

Responsibilities:
  • Accurately develop employer group rates.
  • Collaborate with the sales department to finalize rates and develop appropriate benefit alternatives.
  • Mentor and advise Underwriters and Underwriting Trainees.
  • Handle cases with the highest level of complexity.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 7 years of Underwriting experience, specifically in large group underwriting.
  • Preferred experience in prospect rating, renewal rating, and self-funding.
Compensation:

We offer market-competitive packages, including base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay for full-time employment ranges from $60,756.8 to $101,245.4. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, premiums, shift incentives, or bonuses.
