Job summary

Relativity Space is seeking an experienced Ultrasonic Testing (UT) NDE specialist to perform advanced UT inspections on aerospace hardware, develop UT techniques, and interpret data for acceptance. You will work with UT Specialists, NDE Engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure high-quality inspections and compliance with customer requirements.

The role requires 5+ years of aerospace UT experience, NAS 410 Level II certification, and strong knowledge of UT principles.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant aerospace UT experience.
• Proof of formal NDE classroom training in Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
• Previous Level II certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) NAS 410/SNT-TC-1A or equivalent.Extensive experience performing UT inspections on complex aerospace hardware.
• Strong knowledge of UT principles: sound propagation, attenuation, reflection/refraction, mode conversion, near/far field, resolution, sensitivity, and discontinuity characterization.
• Experience interpreting A-scan data and evaluating UT indications against acceptance criteria.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced UT inspections on aerospace hardware using contact, straight-beam, angle-beam, and other UT techniques.
• Collaborate with UT Specialists, NDE Engineers, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Interpret UT data and determine acceptance per drawings and procedures.
• Develop and publish UT techniques for various hardware configurations.
• Provide guidance to Level I/II NDE personnel in inspection execution and data interpretation.
• Prepare clear inspection documentation and reports.
