Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional front-end development experience.
• Proven ability to set up and integrate enterprise design systems.
• Strong expertise in WCAG 2.1/AAA, ARIA roles, semantic HTML, accessibility testing.
• Experience with Storybook for component development and collaboration.
• Solid UX knowledge and accessible UI design.
• Experience with USWDS or comparable enterprise design systems.

Responsibilities

• Design System Development: build, document, and maintain a scalable design system and reusable component library.
• Accessible Component Development: create wrapper components ensuring accessibility across web apps.
• Accessibility Compliance: meet WCAG 2.1/AAA standards through semantic markup and testing workflows.
• Storybook Integration: use Storybook for development, documentation, and cross-team collaboration.
• Mentorship: guide developers on accessibility and design system best practices.
• Project Support: provide accessibility and UX support for major state systems with mandated deadlines.
• Code reviews: participate in reviews, audits, and UX discussions to ensure quality assets.
