Job summary

State of Iowa DOM / DoIT is seeking a Senior UX Designer & Researcher Accessibility Specialist in Des Moines, IA to lead inclusive UI design initiatives for state agencies. The role emphasizes accessibility, user research, and collaborative design across teams.

On-site work at 200 E Grand Ave, Des Moines, with USC/H-4 EAD visa eligibility, W2 employment, start 10/05/2026 and end 06/30/2027. Openings: 1. Local/regional preferred location.

Qualifications

• Senior UX design and UX research experience required.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma.
• Experience in user research and usability testing.
• Ability to map user journeys and personas.
• Proficient in wireframing and interactive prototyping.
• Strong information architecture and card sorting skills.
• Expertise in accessibility, WCAG 2.2 AA compliance.
• Experience in accessibility auditing, focus management and keyboard navigation.
• Heuristic evaluation and data-driven design approach.
• Excellent stakeholder and technical communication.
