Job summary

IntelliBee in Des Moines, IA is seeking a senior Front-End Tech Lead to guide Staff MIUI development, set architecture, coding standards, and drive accessibility compliance. You will own the front-end roadmap and mentor engineers while collaborating with Java backend teams to integrate APIs (no Java coding required).

The role emphasizes WCAG 2.2 AA, USWDS adoption, secure development practices, and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Front-End Tech Lead with senior level experience
• Expert knowledge of Angular, SASS, and HTML
• Experience implementing a design system; USWDS experience strongly preferred
• Formal accessibility certification (CPACC, WAS, or equivalent)
• Hands-on accessibility testing using automated tools, screen readers, and manual navigation
• Strong understanding of CI/CD and front-end deployment workflows
• Ability to work effectively with Java backend teams
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring ability, and experience driving engineering best practices
• Understanding government security and sensitive data handling requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead front-end codebase architecture and standards for staff MIUI
• Develop, review, and maintain high-quality front-end code (Angular, SASS, HTML)
• Implement and enforce the USWDS across the project
• Own accessibility strategy and ensure WCAG 2.2 AA compliance
• Perform accessibility validation using automated tools, screen readers, and manual navigation
• Lead code reviews, design reviews, and mentor front-end developers
• Improve and maintain front-end CI/CD processes and pipelines
• Identify architectural gaps and define the front-end technical roadmap
• Collaborate with Java backend teams to integrate APIs and services
• Produce technical documentation, decision records, and process documentation
• Apply secure development practices aligned with government security requirements
