Job summary

Ubertal Inc. is seeking a Sr. UI/UX Developer/Architect to lead the setup and maintenance of a scalable design system in a hybrid Des Moines environment.

The role requires building reusable front-end components with HTML, SASS, and Angular, and documenting patterns in Storybook while ensuring WCAG 2.1/AAA accessibility across enterprise applications. Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional front-end development experience.
• Experience building enterprise design systems from scratch.
• Deep knowledge of WCAG 2.1/AAA, ARIA roles, semantic HTML, and accessibility testing.
• Hands-on HTML, SASS, and Angular.
• Experience using Storybook for documentation and development workflows.
• Strong UX understanding and accessible interface design.
• Familiarity with USWDS or equivalent design systems.
• Clear and effective technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Build, document, and maintain scalable design systems and reusable components using USWDS.
• Develop wrapper components with HTML, SASS, and Angular to ensure UI consistency and accessibility.
• Enforce WCAG 2.1/AAA compliance via semantic HTML, ARIA, and accessibility testing workflows.
• Use Storybook for component development, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Mentor developers to drive UX and accessibility standards across the team.
• Participate in code reviews, accessibility audits, and design discussions.
