Job summary

Smart IMS Inc. is seeking a Sr. UI/UX Developer/Architect to lead enterprise design systems and accessible UI frameworks, with hybrid work flexibility in Des Moines, IA. You will shape scalable, reusable components and advocate WCAG-compliant interfaces across applications.

The role requires deep front-end architecture knowledge, mastery of Angular, HTML, SASS, and Storybook, plus experience guiding accessibility reviews and design-system maturity within an enterprise context.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional front-end development experience.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise design systems and reusable component libraries.
• Strong expertise in WCAG 2.1/AAA accessibility standards, ARIA roles, semantic HTML, and accessibility testing.
• Advanced proficiency in Angular, HTML, and SASS development.
• Hands-on experience with Storybook for component development and documentation.
• Strong understanding of UX design principles, accessibility-first design, and user interface architecture.
• Experience working with USWDS or other enterprise-level design systems.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience conducting accessibility audits, code reviews, and compliance assessments.
• Familiarity with .NET, MVC, SQL, and enterprise application integration is preferred.
