Job summary

Okta is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer in Test for our UI Engineering team. You will own the test framework and quality strategy for our frontend and platform surfaces, ensuring every UI release meets the highest bar for functional correctness, visual consistency, accessibility, and global usability.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, has designed and scaled UI test frameworks, and has a track record of setting technical direction across teams

Qualifications

• 5+ years of quality engineering experience with hands-on test automation.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and frontend code.
• Experience designing test architecture and frameworks from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Design and own scalable UI test architecture and frameworks across frontend teams.
• Build and maintain cross-browser and visual regression testing suites.
• Establish automated and manual accessibility testing practices integrated into CI.
• Design localization/globalization test coverage across locales and RTL layouts.
• Ensure out-of-the-box configurations are verified across all environments.
• Review requirements to develop test plans and strategy for platform and frontend initiatives.
• Mentor SDETs and new hires; communicate QE architecture to scrum teams.
