Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer (Applications) to design and implement high-quality UI for complex systems. You will work with a team of engineers to translate requirements into scalable UI solutions, participate in design reviews, and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities include building UI architecture, collaborating with backend and hardware teams, and delivering on schedule. Experience with Qt/QML and C++ is required, with a focus onRobotics/controls preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Strong C++ and QML skills with knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Experience building UI or UI frameworks and unit testing.
• Familiarity with Agile processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain application-level user interfaces for complex software systems.
• Participate in design reviews, UI/UX discussions, and CL-based development workflows.
• Translate requirements into scalable, user-focused UI solutions and architecture.
• Write clean, testable code and develop unit tests and validation strategies.
• Collaborate with backend and hardware engineers to integrate UI with real-time data sources.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to process improvements.
