Job summary

Ondas Sentinel Technologies in Irvine, CA seeks a Senior Systems Engineer for UAV Open Architecture to lead systems engineering across multidisciplinary teams for Long Endurance ISR UAS platforms.

The role interfaces with mechanical, electrical, software, and test teams to ensure timely delivery of mission-critical capabilities, including environmental validation and risk management. Travel <10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace).
• 10+ years experience in aerospace/defense/government contracting environments.
• Familiarity with MOSA in defense systems.
• Experience on Aircraft/UAV development as Systems Engineer.
• Familiarity with GRAs such as AMS GRA, A-GRA, or OMS/UCI.
• Strong foundation in Systems Engineering for multidisciplinary systems.
• Experience creating environmental requirements (temp, vibration, altitude).
• Experience across full lifecycle from concept to delivery.
• Excellent communication and documentation in cross-functional settings.

Responsibilities

• Develop requirements and architecture per government open/common standards.
• Translate mission needs into actionable system requirements.
• Define/manage system interfaces from concept through flight test.
• Plan/coordinate system validation activities aligned with goals.
• Execute system-level validation including environmental testing.
• Collaborate with engineering, integration, and test teams.
• Lead failure modes analysis and risk management across the lifecycle.
• Support system reviews and documentation for safety and reliability.
• Travel required: Less than 10%.
