Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is seeking a detail‑driven professional to research, analyze, and document operator, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures, with responsibility for safety requirements and technical specifications for MQ‑9 related systems.

The role involves reviewing customer specifications, communicating technical data clearly, and developing recommendations to meet safety and performance standards with potential travel and DoD clearance.

Qualifications

  • Requires bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of engineering/military technical and/or documentation experience.
  • Formal training in Aeronautical Decision Making; Crew Resource Management; Human Factors.
  • Operational experience as aircrew (MQ-9) preferred; pilot preferred.
  • Strong ability to develop, interpret, and communicate technical data; strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Researches, analyzes, develops, and documents detailed requirements for operator, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures, checklists, technical specifications, alert bulletins, training materials and other procedures and reports.
  • Reads, interprets and analyzes engineering source material such as engineering drawings, software documents, test plans, design specifications, and interviews with technical experts.
  • Analyzes and recommends safety criteria in system procedures and design to control or eliminate hazards.
  • Develops safety procedures as necessary to support customer and test/operational requirements.
  • Investigates and resolves problem areas and participates with engineering, operations and maintenance personnel to document technical solutions.
  • May serve as the primary contact on contracts and programs.
