Job summary

AeroVironment seeks an Electrical Engineer I to design, develop and evaluate electronic systems for UAV hardware. You’ll select components, review vendor capabilities, and contribute to cross‑functional avionics teams across RF, embedded control, and power electronics.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 0–2 years professional experience.
• Experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Familiarity with RF, embedded control, or FPGA areas.
• Knowledge of LVDS, I2C, HDMI, UART, SPI, CAN, USB protocols.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% for flight tests.

Responsibilities

• Performs simulation and detailed design for digital and analog circuits.
• Drives system integration, assembly procedures, and test procedures.
• Documents designs with engineering drawings and written descriptions.
• Troubleshoots systems from hardware and software perspectives.
• Designs and implements circuit boards including layout and bring-up.
• Writes software to support sensor and embedded processor integration.
• Performs electronic engineering support on R&D projects.
