Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Payload Integration Engineer for the Omen Group 3 program. You will own mechanical integration of mission payloads into a modular UAS airframe, designing mounts, interfaces, and quick-swap mechanisms for in-field reconfiguration.

You will collaborate across structures, mechanical, and sensor teams to ensure thermal, vibration, and alignment requirements are met, while balancing mass, swap time, and cost in a fast-paced defense environment.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 8+ years of mechanical design and integration experience in aerospace/defense.
• Strong knowledge of load paths and fastened connections in mixed materials.
• Proficient in CAD for detailed part and assembly modeling (NX preferred).
• Experience with structural sizing via hand calculations and classical methods.
• Working knowledge of FEA tools (ANSYS/Abaqus/NASTRAN).
• Hands-on hardware integration experience and ability to troubleshoot assemblies.
• Familiar with GD&T and interface control documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical payload integration on the Omen Group 3 airframe from concept to flight-ready hardware.
• Design and iterate structural interfaces, mounts, rails, adapters, and quick-swap mechanisms.
• Develop modular payload architecture accommodating various sensors while preserving CG and aerodynamics.
• Define ICDs covering mounting datums, fastener patterns, envelopes, and load paths.
• Collaborate with structures, mechanical, and payload teams to meet thermal, vibration, and alignment requirements.
• Balance payload capacity, mass, swap time, and production cost; make trade recommendations to leadership.
• Feed lessons learned back into ICDs, calibration procedures, and production tests.
