Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the MQ-9B Program Engineering group in Poway, CA, focused on development and fielding of MQ-9B SkyGuardian and SeaGuardian UAS for India.

In this role, the Engineering Supervisor will lead technical staff and contribute to system architectures, integration and test, coordinating with MQ-9B leads and government resources through full lifecycle from concept to fielding.

Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in engineering from an accredited institution with progressive engineering experience (9+ years with bachelor’s, 7+ with master’s, or 4+ with PhD).
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to interface with customers, government representatives, and other departments.

Responsibilities

Leads Project Engineering staff responsible for programs focused on development, integration and test for UAS.
Leads technical programs as a direct contributor in addition to departmental supervisorial responsibilities.
Leads hardware and software integration for UAS flight environment and develops system architectures.
Performs full lifecycle program execution from concept through airworthiness testing, certification and fielding.
Interfacing with US Government and International Customer stakeholders; manages schedule and resources.
