Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the MQ-9B Program Engineering group in Poway, CA, focused on development and fielding of MQ-9B SkyGuardian and SeaGuardian UAS for India.

In this role, the Engineering Supervisor will lead technical staff and contribute to system architectures, integration and test, coordinating with MQ-9B leads and government resources through full lifecycle from concept to fielding.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in engineering from an accredited institution with progressive engineering experience (9+ years with bachelor’s, 7+ with master’s, or 4+ with PhD).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to interface with customers, government representatives, and other departments.

Job Summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join our MQ-9B Program Engineering group located in Poway, CA focused on development and fielding of MQ-9B SkyGuardian and SeaGuardian UAS for the country of India.

In this role, the Engineering Supervisor will lead technical staff and perform individual contribution to country-specific advanced airborne, ground and data infrastructure development efforts in coordination with MQ-9B Program Engineering leads and functional engineering resources.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leads Project Engineering staff responsible for programs focused on the development, integration and test for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
• Leads technical programs as a direct contributor in addition to departmental supervisorial responsibilities.
• Leads hardware and software integration efforts for the Unmanned Aerial Systems. (UAS) flight environment.
• Develops system architectures tied to mission and performance requirements.
• Conducts and leads trade studies that results in design and architecture that meet mission needs.
• Performs full lifecycle program execution from concept through airworthiness testing, certification and fielding.
• Actively plans, leads and participates in test events, including System Integration Lab (SIL), Ground and Flight Test phases.
• Develops and presents technical material for diverse audiences.
• Interfaces with US Government and International Customer stakeholders.
• Responsible for the execution and implementation of the engineering process: design, development, integration, test and performance verification.
• Manages program schedule and resource needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, seven or more years of experience with a masters degree, or four or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
• Demonstrates a detailed and extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice with the ability to organize, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones with some experience in project leadership.
• Able to work extended hours and travel as required, to include international travel to India
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
• Must possess:
• Ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with other departments, customers, government representatives, and/or professionals

Job Type: Full-Time Salary

Salary range: 105,890 - 189,545
