Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Duo CLI team within the Developer Clients group. You will design and build AI-assisted terminal tooling, shaping the CLI's future across frontend/backend work in TypeScript and contributing to JetBrains/Kotlin and VS Code extensions.

You’ll provide technical leadership by breaking down complex problems, maintaining a high standard for code quality, performance, and reliability in a fully remote, async environment.

Qualifications

• ,Strong proficiency in TypeScript and an interest in developer tooling and command-line interface design.
• Experience building or maintaining command-line tools or other developer-facing tooling.
• Experience owning technical problems end to end, guiding engineers through code reviews and mentorship.
• Clear written and spoken English communication skills in a remote async environment.
• Alignment with inclusive culture and company values.
• Experience with IDE extension development is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and evolution of the company Duo CLI features from problem definition with Product through implementation, rollout, and iteration.
• Build interactive terminal experiences in TypeScript with thoughtful command/flag design and backward compatibility.
• Drive reliability, observability, and performance improvements for the CLI and reduce technical debt as the product grows.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and engineers to align technical decisions with broader strategy.
• Mentor teammates and review code to champion product quality and developer experience.
• Contribute to IDE extension work across the group when useful (JetBrains Kotlin, VS Code TS).
